Are you facing a problem that seems insurmountable? It looms in front of you: overwhelming and overpowering. God has a question for you in this moment:
“Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh; is anything too difficult for Me?”
Jeremiah 32:27
That question stops me in my tracks. I know what I am supposed to answer … but in reality, my response might be:
“I’m actually not sure you can, God.”
“Perhaps you can, but I don’t think you will.”
Or, oftentimes, “But, God, you’re not doing things my way!”
And God asks me again, “Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh; is anything too difficult for Me?”
When we present our troubles to God, God may work a miracle to remove the problem. He might resolve the issue over a long period of time. He may ask us to change our way of doing things. He might point out sin that we need to confess. He may reassure us that his grace is sufficient, even if the problem doesn’t go away. But in all these things, the answer is the same: We serve the Lord, the God of all flesh – and nothing is too difficult for him.
If you have a burden in your life, pray with me now:
“Lord, you are the God of all flesh.
I have a problem – and it’s a big one.
I am struggling with <tell him about the problem>.
Please help me to grow my faith so that
I can affirm with my heart, soul, mind, and strength that
NOTHING is too difficult for YOU.”
