Each of us has a unique call in Christ – one that is perfectly fitted to our gifting, personality, experience, and passion. Yet we also all share a call in Christ to “proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light” (1 Peter 2:9)! 2 Corinthians 5:18-21 tells us more about this purpose:
“All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”
Take some time to think about these verses:
We have an amazing God: “God reconciled us to himself through Christ.”
We have an amazing story: “God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”
We have an amazing role: “We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors.”
We have an amazing responsibility: “God has committed to us the message of reconciliation .... We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.”
Let’s get excited and get out into the world ... because this is AMAZING!
