“Enoch walked faithfully with God; then he was no more, because God took him away.” – Genesis 5:24
“By faith Enoch was taken up so that he would not see death; and he was not found because God took him up; for he obtained the witness that before his being taken up he was pleasing to God.” – Hebrews 11:5
We know nothing of Enoch except that he walked with God. An image of daily going side by side with the Lord. Obedience, quiet conversation, ordinary life. And God was pleased – so pleased, that he took Enoch to be with him.
That is very encouraging to me … so often, we get depressed because we haven’t done anything “big.” We aren’t a Moses, or a John the Baptist, or an Apostle Paul. But in Enoch, we know that we can be absolutely, totally pleasing to God in ordinary, daily life … as we walk with him.
FAITH WALKS WITH GOD IN THE NORMAL, DAILY ACTIVITIES OF LIFE.
